Too Much Sanitiser? 5 Hand Creams to Repair & Hydrate

29 August, 2021 - 08:33pm by - First Lady | 7 Comments

By BR Natalie

I've had 'old lady hands' since the day I was born.  It doesn't matter what I do, they're always dry, or wrinkly, or just look a bit dehydrated.  So you can imagine what the increase in Hand Sanitiser usage has done to them!

It was time, actually, long overdue, for me to find a more hydrating handcream - and where better to turn than to the Beauty Review Hand Cream category!

Here are 5 of the best hand creams according to real NZ shoppers who have bought them and used them.

5. Alpine Silk Manuka Honey Moisturising & Repair Hand & Nail Crème

They say:  Enriched with Sweet Almond Oil, Keratin & Vitamin A & E  Alpine Silk Moisturising & Repair Hand & Nail Crème will help protect & repair your skin. Sweet Almond Oil will help your skin feel deeply nourished & moisturised while Keratin aids in preventing dry cuticles and promotes strong healthy nails

You say:  I go in with a small dot expecting all the horrors of creams before but there is none..... the cream is light, just enough oil to moisturise but it absorbs to a lovely feel. I feel like I can safely touch things without leaving visible fingerprints everywhere. And what is that smell? Marzipan? Honey? Who cares it smells yummy but natural and I find myself sniffing my hands from time to time and smiling.

Am I converted to hand creams? Not unless it is this one and ONLY this one!!!!!!! sanzchick

4. essano Rosehip Hand Cream.

They say:  Essano Hand Cream Rosehip Only the ‘essence of nature’ feeds your hands the nourishment they need to overcome the drying effects of daily life, for younger looking, beautifully supple hands. Certified organic Rosehip Oil works with active natural botanical ingredients; Shea Butter and Jojoba to intensively hydrate and lock in moisture.

You say:  It comes in a lovely, large pink tube. It has 120ml so will certainly last me a while. It is a lovely rosehip scent that it not too overwhelming and lingers nicely on your hands. When I use it, it leaves my hands feeling soft and hydrated, without being oily or slimey. I find it also lasts quite a while so your hands stay soft for a good few hours into the day. It absorbs quickly and leaves your hands feeling lovely!.- rrachh

3. Trilogy Rose Hand Cream

They say:  TRILOGY Rose Hand Cream is the perfect treatment to deliver long lasting softness, soothed cuticles and strengthened nails.  Enjoy the soft and sweet rose fragrance as your hands benefit from this lightweight conditioning cream.

You say:  This is one of the nicest hand creams I have used. It comes in a good sized tube (100mls) and seems to last for ages.  It is not greasy and absorbs really well, and leaves your hands moisturised and soft.- kimrose

2.  Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy Hand Cream

They say:  LINDEN LEAVES hand creams are designed to easily absorb into the skin to protect and soothe sensitive hands from everyday stresses and environmental chemicals.  With soothing aloe vera to minimise irritation, rosemary for its protective antiseptic properties and sweet almond oil to nourish, smooth and hydrate.

You say:  I’ve been using this daily since last year and it lasted me roughly four months once a day use. Price wise it’s fair . I’m sad because I used mine up . I’d definitely repurchase this again without a doubt. - Macs

1. Ecostore Hand Cream

They say:  Our beautiful hand cream is a light, non-greasy formulation made from the latest generation plant-based ingredients and is enriched with jojoba oil. Jojoba has a close resemblance to sebum - the oil that is naturally produced by the body to protect your skin and is light and easily absorbed.

You say:  I love this cream, it is definitely a great cream for people with sensitive skin, It is so inexpensive for a product so good, i find it instantly hydrates my skin and keeps moisturised, it has a beautiful fragrance also which is a nice touch. Beauty Review member - -LIANA-

Working everyday with hand sanitizer has really affected my hands theyre a lot drier and rougher and look awful. I’ve been using a la Roche posey hand cream which has been great!

I'm not using much sanitiser. I don't like it. I do use hand cream though and am currently using La Roche Posay repairing barrier cream because I wash my hands a lot at work.

I don't really buy hand creams just general body lotions or moisturizers

The Trilogy hand cream is gorgeous, I’d definitely recommend it. I’m loving the Caudalie one at the moment. The scent is so unique and a little goes a long way.

Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream has been the one I've been using lately. Absorbs, great for sensitive skin and irritated skin and budget friendly.

If I was going to use one from the list it would be Linden Leaves. I love it.
