I would say affordable?? I was looking at my Lust Have It hauls and miss the subscription. So many good little bits to try.
Swedish death cleaning, generally familiar with the term but will have to look it up.
My mum passed unexpectedly last year, so have done a lot of cleaning out in all areas of my life. It's productive and atleast I have kept the things that actually have value to me. Over consumerism was quite a lot last year. Looking to make things simpler but still bring joy.

I am trying Shampoo Bar products this year to reduce my environmental impact. I have used a new one twice and the amount of fall out is pretty bad...twice to three times the amount I usually lose in a week.
The major change has been the use of this product. Just wondering what experiences other people have had? Or how long one recommends trialing it before letting it go?

@tannygirl: more sleep, I love that!
Backups..something tthat has increased the last couple years. Stoked to say there are no cleansers awaiting me this year. Less backups/no backups would be a great aim. In saying that, backups served their purpose during the lockdowns. Harder to source items etc. Now I have a bit of anxiety around the amount of products that are yet to be used.

Awesome topic, will be keeping an eye out for suggestions.
Have a decent size sample of Dior Poison Girl. It's nice but not obsessed with it.
Also Givenchy Ange Ou Demon. I really liked it a few years back and wanted to try it again before purchasing full size. Not as obsessed as I once was. Not $170 obsessed.

New year, new goals? Was hoping to finish 22 products in 2022, just did a count and it was only 13. Thought I did better but not so much.
This year I aim to focus on:
-Improving my hair condition as it has taken a hit recently
-Improving skin condition (face skin) as it is the worst it has ever been :(

Heard about Poeme but haven't smelt it. What does it smell like?
I have my eye on one. Its $170 and I remember loving it from a sample a friend gifted me years ago. In the new year I think I'll grab it. Also after a fav men's perfume I adored a few years back. It's cheaper slightly, think I'll get that one too at some stage.

Another product included in the BBBE '22. Glass 60ml pottle. Wonderful scent of rose and geranium. Thick cream consistency, don't need to use much for full face/neck coverage. Calming experience using this product. I forgot how pampering it can be simply doing night care skin routine. This product reminds me how lovely an experience it can be. Bonus: skin is soft and moisturised. Overall very fond of this product.
Picked this out in the vault. Like the colour packaging. Also, the style of the brushes. 1st brush is thinner and gets every last particularly great for the inner lashes. 2nd brush has a curl to it. The formula has fires.
The end look is great, I really do like it. The only unfortunate thing and why I don't use fibre mascaras is that they irritate my eyes. Stray fires tend to fall out and it becomes unpleasant.
The look, amazing. The after effects not so great. If fires don't irritate your eyes, would highly recommend.
Picked this up in a recent vault haul. So stoked to be able to try something like this. Cute box of 10x50ml glass jars. Peach flavored, smells and tastes amazing. I have been putting these in daily smoothies or drinking by itself is also pleasant.
Essentially a 10 day course, I can't attest to any of the clinically proven results mentioned above. I feel like a month course would be a more realistic time frame to see results. I would agree with noticing more plump skin, but that's about it. Haven't noticed any other changes during this time.
If it was within my price range, I would love to purchase this on the regular as part of my beauty care routine. As it is, I doubt I would be purchasing unless it was on sale.
Intrigued by the concept of "just add water" to adhere lashes. I've tried most other types of lashes: standard glue, magnetic, adhesive eyeliner. Was interested to see how these compared.
Gorgeous style. Taking the lashes out of the pack, they were quite stiff. The lashes are pre glued. The instructions say to dip in water. I tried dipping my finger in water and running it across the lash band. This wasn't enough. I dipped the lash band in water and got the root of the lashes wet also.
Admittedly, instructions said to wait 1 min and I probably waited a bit less than that and tried to apply the lash. Very stingy in my eyes! I think it's cause the water/glue mixture ran right into my eyes. It wouldn't stay on much to my frustration.
After trying twice more, I still couldn't get them to adhere, or for a long duration; I gave up and used adhesive eyeliner. Did somewhat manage to get the other lash adhered with water. One for each eye to compare.
The water one lasted 4 hours before I had to remove and reapply. It wouldn't stay on. Says it is for 3 applications but I couldn't get a full one use.
This is just my experience with it, but it's not for me. I'm glad i can still get use out of the lashes using adhesive eyeliner but no more water use. It's not something I'd purchase but would still recommend if your looking for an alternative lash option. It may work out better for you and if not, lashes can still be used with a glue option.
Scored this in the last vault! Choose this as I have always been interested in getting that blow wave look. Thus kit comes with a 50mm barrel, a 40mm barrel and the 3D styling paddle brush. The handle has two heat settings and a cool setting. You choose the attachment piece you want and lock it in to place. There is also a switch to choose which direction you want the barrel to go.
I really enjoy using the brush as it makes drying my hair easier and faster. It also acts like a styler, smoothed out my thick, wavy hair and it leaves it so much more manageable.
First impression on trying the barrel. Not great. My hair just caught in it. Quite frustrating, gave up on it soon after. I have since used it a couple more times. My technique has improved a bit but the end result doesn't look like it should. The amount of effort required compared to just using the brush for dual drying and styling, renders it pointless to me.
I appreciate that it comes as a set but think the option to just have the main piece and styling brush with the optional extra to purchase the barrels would have been better. I doubt I'll ever use the barrels again. Bar I didn't pay for it, there is no way I would have paid rrp for it. Still going to keep it as this has replaced my hair dryer.
Tips: Can't recommend the styling brush for drying and basic styling enough.
However, I think the barrel and blow wave use of this product would best suit thin, flat, easy to manage hair.
So, I'm just the biggest Linden Leaves fan. I love their products and buy them for gifts for other people as well as myself. This one didn't quite meet the mark for me though.
Firstly it comes in a glass bottle with a pump top. It's great and it didn't fail. The product, an elixer, is a white lotion and thinner than I would like for an elixer. The smell is not one that usuallyappeals to me, possibly because of the rosehip, which I'm not keen on. But over time I have come to quite like it.
The product when applied, only requires a small amount and absorbs well. It makes my skin feel nice and soft and hydrated. Over the few weeks it has taken to use it, I have noticed my skin feels tighter and smoother and is soft. I usually prefer this type of product to be thick but it works ok as it is. At $59 for 30ml, It is a good buy for a lovely product.
I've had to update my review because the more I've used this product, the more I've come to love it!
Attractive bright blue stand up tube. Thick cream consistency, no scent. I like that it is spf30, broad spectrum, water resistant (though I have not tested the water resistant claim) and NZ made.
Have found this sits on my skin and doesn't actually soak in or blend in at all. Quite greasy looking. I tried using a flat top kabuki brush followed by hands. Product just seemed to move around my face.
I've used this the last couple of days but I really don't like the way it looks on me and I don't want to use it anymore.
Don't get me wrong, this does smell good. But to me its a bit typical? Like an aftershave sample they send in the mail. You soon realize that it smells like every guy you wish you didn't go on a date with. There's better scents out there for a more reasonable price.
i bought this as it was "new" and i like new. and also it was a spend x amount and get a free booster serum. so y'know! had to have it.
the lid pops off and you twist the inner lid, much like a talcum powder bottle. a few tap tap taps on the bottle (upside down) lets the powder fall out onto your hand.
it says it is an exfoliant, and i was expecting more.. gritty haha. i know thats silly but i was. instead its just like mixing a bit o cornflower with water, it dissolves super fast and is just meh. rubbed on the face it feels like nothing. once rinsed off it made my face feel a bit weird (squeaky, tight) but not too bad.
it does not foam whatsoever, it does not do any buffing, my face is not smoother but it does look a smidge nicer. i really, truly wanted to like it. but i cant. i'll use it up but i certainly won't be repurchasing it.
Beautifully presented dark green bottle with white label and pump top. Direct mist spray. Wish it was a more gentle dispersed spray. Lovely sweet scent when spritzed. Gentle product thats hydrating.
Have been using for the past couple of weeks and enjoy using this. I'd repurchase this again.
