Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat

I use this as my go to base and top coat - provides a lovely base for long lasting nails. Absolutely great product as it's like a 2 in 1.

This product is great it does what it says it is meant to but it just doesn't last that long on my nails. Maybe because of my job (Florist) my hands are always wet but yeah. Its good but not my holy grail.

I was recommended this product by a friend when my nails were going through a very weak patch and quite often breaking. It is a good formula, easy to apply and a slightly shiny finish if not wearing with regular nail polish over the top. I found that it helped my nails somewhat but not dramatically. I will sometimes apply it now between manicures to help my nails recover.

This is a really great product, even more so for those that have weak nails. It has a simple yet Beautiful packaging with the silver and black and the shape of the bottle is easy to hold, not too small in anyone's hands, easy to open and a little elegant long stem down to the brush which is small and thin but it holds enough product to apply a nice base coat. The product which seemed runny was actually perfectly fine and dried the same way and in the same amount of time as any normal base coat, it had the normal nail enamel smell that's mostly unavoidable i think.

Now I used this straight after my nails came out of acrylic and I must say that this really speed up the process of bring my nails back to health, I loved it for that and I have since used it weekly and my nails are beautiful long and strong again, no more acrylic for me as long as I keep using this product. Highly recommend to anyone to use it, I even have it on my nails right now on its own as I love the shine it produces.

My daughter gave this to me as a gift so I am not sure where she purchased it as I went to Countdown to buy a refill and they no longer sell it. Went to the local pharmacy and they said the same so this could be a problem to start. None the less on opening I initially thought the brush was thin and fine and the liquid rather thin but it applied perfectly and took no longer than any 'base coat' to dry. Once dry I applied two layers of colour and a top coat and found they lasted about five days which I would expect from a decent nail polish. As far as instantly harder and all the rest - well generally a base coat would do this. Where I was pleasantly surprised is that my nails have a tendency to chip and I honestly believe they have improved ten fold since I have been using this. My middle nails split upwards and sometimes it is visible which is one of the reasons I constantly wear polish in preference to buffing them. Yes, I am impressed. Application was really easy and it dried incredibly fast. Bonus is that it prevents dark polish from staining the nails too. Definitely scores points with me and will purchase a replacement as soon as I can find a store that sells it.

I use this whenever my nails are flaky, damaged and brittle. Always, always use this product after having acrylic or gel nails on for a while. It instantly makes my nails harder and stonger and is fast drying. I personally have never hasd the pleasure of 10 day wear though - but I think that is down to the individual, it proably lasts around 5-8 days on my nails.

The packaging is clever, and is a glass bottle with a silver coating to represent the ‘diamond’ aspect of this product! In saying that, I think the bottle would have felt more expensive without a cheap coating, but I understand the idea behind this design.

The texture of this product began quite thin and the thinness of this product made it really quick to dry, which is something I love, since I hate waiting around for my nails to dry (I’m not very patient. After a while of using this product it slightly thicker, im not sure if this is normal but it did not create any problems and the product was still easy to use. However, when the bottle starting getting empty, I find the brush did not reach down enough to get the remaining product out of the bottle, leaving the brush with little product, and my nails with streaks! However, this is actually a problem I have with most nail polishes so I’m not that surprised by it.

I brought this at Farmers, and it sounded like everything I needed! A top and bottom coat, that would make my nails strong. Yes this product was a good base coat, and yes it was a good top coat! But I don’t think it made my nails any stronger! Regardless, I would still use it as a top and bottom coat, so I would recommend this product.

Sally Hansen is a great lower priced brand of nail polish. So when I saw a buy 2 get 1 free deal at Farmers I couldn't resist trying Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat.

The bottle is a mirror-like colour which clearly 'reflects' the name Diamond Strength Diamond Shine. It's easy to open and the brush is a great size, perfect for nail application. The polish glides on easily but be careful as to how much you put on the brush as a little goes a long way.

The end result is a spectacular diamond shine that keeps my nail polish colour from chipping or cracking for up to a week.

Pros: Great shine, Reasonably priced, Conveniently located (Farmers, Chemists), Long wearing, A little goes a long way.

Cons: Bottle is made of a weird material.

Overall: Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat is a great addition for any nail polish kit.

When you have had your acrylics on for too long and you pick it at them and end up ripping them off yourself. We all do it and then complain my nails are ruined.....this is what you need. Every 2 days remove the coat you have on and reapply in one month you will have rock hard beautiful nails.

Sally Hansen are a great brand and reliable, this is why I decided to try this. I was erally happy with it, good shine, if I wanted clear, did help build strength up, but you have to be consistent! happy with it as a top coat, but would not use a base coat, can make polish peel easy.
