MONU Micro Exfoliant Review

I should probably start by saying that I didn't think an exfoliant would have the power to change my skin's texture as dramatically as this one did! Sure, I expect all exfoliants to remove dead skin, but none that I've used in the past have ever left my skin looking as smooth and even as this.

I love the texture of it too, not too chunky harsh-feeling as some exfoliants can be - but still scrubs enough so you feel like it's actually making a difference! It felt quite gentle so I used it three times in the week I was trialing it, after my normal cleanse to remove makeup.

I didn't really use it near my fine lines, which are under my eyes - as my eyes are sensitive and I try not to get anything but water near them - so I can't comment on what it did for my fine lines. But it definitely did help with my skin texture, and I feel it reduced the size/visibility of my pores too.

The smell was nice, really refreshing so I felt it woke me up! Perfect to use as part of my morning routine.

Even the packaging did exactly what I needed it to do. I can't really think of anything I'd improve, overall the product met my needs perfectly! I'll definitely consider purchasing this myself when I run out.

Yay, My product arrived a day or 2 after review confirmation so I got a good 8-10 days to trial this out. First impressions.. Look - I feel as though if I was to spend this amount on a skin care product I would like the bottle / tube to be a bit fancier :) To me the price is quite high, but on first glance I probably wouldn't look twice because of the bland bottle. Materialistic I know!! Smell - I think the smell of this is okay, it smells clean, natural and not filled with millions of harmful things to make it smell like roses lol. After putting the product onto my hands (prior to my face) for the first time, I wasn't convinced that it was a exfoliator as it had a creamy texture.. after applying to my face I found that it had very much a exfoliating effect! More than any other product I've used actually, it consists of tiny tiny tiny exfoliating particles and they defintely do there job well ! I would choose this product over Frank coffee scrub any day... (my usual go to exfoliating product), I used this 2 times a day most days while trialing. One before I started my day, after my morning walk.. and the other before bed after a shower / bath. After exercise I love this because it feels like your getting right under the surface of your skin in a delicate way to remove all the sweat and nastys in your pores. Before bed, I like using this before bed because being a cigarette smoker.. and having a non smoker partner I am always super self conscious about jumping in bed smelling like smoke, using this I felt super confident my skin felt and smelt very clean. After each use my skin felt youthful, clean and awake. I feel like this product may be a product I would invest in in the future, but have a wee while to think about it yet as the bottle has hardly a dent in it after all most 20 uses! Good value ! X

Monu Micro Exfoliant is amazing and leaves your skin feeling baby soft. The Micro Exfoliant does what it says and reduces fine lines and pores. It brightens your skin and makes it look amazing. It is extremely economical as you only need a small amount.

...but it might be a long affair!

Sounds like a match made in heaven right? I thought so when I received this product. But it took a while to fall in love.

It looked lovely, none of this extra (and useless) packaging that usually comes with expensive products. Simple and clean. The only thing missing was super clear instructions - do I put this on wet skin? Dry skin? I went with my gut for the first use and used it on damp skin in the shower.

The product is like a thick, white cleanser - you have to look really hard to see the scrub particles. I quite like this, I hate those apricot scrubs with chunks of pit in them! But don't be fooled - as soon as you start rubbing this on your face you feel the abrasive ingredients getting to work. It's actually kind of impossible to scrub too hard, your own sense of comfort will prevent it.

Oh and you literally need a pea sized amount to do your whole face and neck!

Yet after the first use I was sort of underwhelmed. My skin felt nice, it didn't feel stripped bare or squeaky clean, it felt like I'd had a nice refreshing shower. Maybe that's why I was underwhelmed - for something labelled microdermabrasion you expect to feel something more right? It just wasn't a sensory experience - it was like washing your face as a kid, you just go through the motions.

I've been using the scrub every other day (not being excited to use it, just doing it) and it was after about the fourth use when I began to ponder my opinions on it in preparation for the review. And it hit me. My skin has been incredibly easy to maintain since using this scrub.

Dry patches that have been requiring extra attention with the cold? Gone. This scrub didn't dry my skin out further, but removed the dry patches and left me in no need of extra hydration (other than my usual daily moisturiser).

Oily patches that usually appear later in the day, especially around my chin haven't been an issue. There is no oil.

So my skin is balanced. It's also glowing. As in my fresh faced look is actually my fresh face. No blurrer, tinted primer or BB cream.

So, for $80 you get a product that's going to last, I'd say easy 6 months, if not more, of 3-4 times a week use. That leaves your skin balanced, soft and glowing.

This scrub would have received 4/5 if not for one more thing...Read the tips for the true miracle of this product!

This product really did what said it was going to do for me. After using it my face feels so smooth and looks healthier and fresher. I wasn't too fond of the smell of it, it was quite strong smelling and not very natural smelling. Also I tried to see on the tube if it said anything about being paraben free or not tested on animals which are factors that are important for me. It did not state this on the tube so I can assume this isn't the case with this product.

I have followed the instructions for my acneic skin (using twice a week) and I have noticed my skin more radiant and clear. After wash off the product I feel my skin smoother like an apricot. Well I have to say my pores are still the same size, but I think I need to use the product for a long time to see the best results. They recommend use it 2- 3 times per week for oily or congested skin, and 1 - 2 times per week for acneic, dry or mature skin.

The texture has soft micro particles. It’s a cream and its smell is like a shampoo that I used before, it doesn’t smell like papaya or Shea butter, it’s more like a chemical smell, but it’s not bad. The product it can be use for 9 months after open it.

I recommend make a gently massage with a small amount and avoid the eyes area because it's itchy. I did not get irritation or any allergy like others products that I have tested.

So, first of all huge thanks to Beauty Review for inviting me to trial this product, it was one I was very excited to accept.

Perfect timing as i had just finished my normal exfoliant and was thinking about what to try next as I wasn't overly happy with the other product I was using, so for me this coming up was really exciting, and reading a bit more into the product after accepting the trial i was even more excited.

I will start with the packaging, which is simple, yet eye catching with the use of orange to make it pop but yet even with the orange it is easy to read and that is really important when using a high end skincare product and if you are possibly unsure of how to use it. Simple screw lid makes it easy to get on and off, even while you have wet hands in the shower. I LOVE the fact that it has proper instructions on the back, so I have a combination skin but my dry areas are my problem so it clearly states that if you have dry skin only use 1-2 times per week, this is the exact same advise they give you in a beauty salon so I was so happy that they put it on there as well.

The product itself is to die for, it feels amazing and has the most tiny micro beads, as soon as I put a small test on my hand, I knew I was going to enjoy this product. Only had to use a really small amount on my skin a little went a long way and using small circular motions, exfoliating my face was bliss, now the best part! How my face felt afterwards was a dream, you expect that after washing a baby's face not skin as old as mine, I was so happy, it looked radiant and new and fresh. It felt so good, and it really has helped my flaky ugly patches that I hate so much. Putting a moisturizer on afterwards just glided on like a breeze and the following day for my makeup, was one of the best makes days Ive had in so long. So over happy with this.

One down fall for me was the smell of the product, while it was very nice, its extremely strong and even overpowering at points, for me this was the only thing that ruined my experience in this product but it does not put me off to continue use.

Overall I am so happy and grateful that I got this trial. I will use it again and I will tell everyone about it. Great product.

I was super excited to secure my spot on this trail as microdermabrasion is something I have contemplated for years but thought it was only available at beauty salons.

Due to the timeframe of having to have my review in means I've only been able to use it twice and I feel this type of product will be a few months worth before you'd notice any definite results so I wont blow its trumpet fully just yet but so far I am very pleased.

This 100ml tube will last AGES (which means its price tag shouldn't be something to put you off)You only need the smallest coin sized dollop. It has a faint fragrance which is very pleasant.

The particles of diaomatious earth are quite rough so this reminded me to be extra gentle to my skin (im always way too rough!) It felt really therapeutic while gently circling on my face and after Id rinsed it off boy my skin was SO smooth and felt like it had a really proper clean (best feeling ever after wearing makeup all day in my opinion!)

I have broken out a little bit over the last couple of weeks, especially in places I don't often get spots but cannot say if it is due to this product or not. I would like to think it is expelling all the nasties. I plan to come back to this review in a few months time to give an update on how im finding it and any noticeable results. Im even tempted to trial it on Mr Rosies skin as it could do with some tlc - now to just get him to agree!

Side note: I gave my friend who has the complete opposite skin to me a sample to use and she loved her silky soft skin results just as much as me so this would be a great all rounder if you were looking at trying out a product like this.

Really great product. People say all exfoliating scrubs are the same but this was so good. Just gritty enough to feel it cleaning but not hurting. Left skin looking smooth with a nice amount of colour. Smell is nice too. Great product.

The smell was what caught my attention first, even before I had opened the lid. I couldn't quite place it- citrusy maybe?

I received this last Friday and used it that very night. The consistency is nice and light, more like a cream. It's not pasty or runny, it's somewhere in the middle. One pea sized dollop is enough for my entire face and the granules are very small and fine, but there is enough for me to feel that it's actually 'doing something'. It didn't feel harsh against my skin at all. When I rinsed it off, my skin didn't feel squeaky-clean like it normally does with other products. It felt like there was a film on my face and when I looked in the mirror, I didn't have any dry patches. My skin felt smooth and my skincare glided on easily, however, the 'smooth skin' effect had disappeared by the next morning.

I used it again yesterday and another thing I noticed was I didn't get any angry, red splotches on my face like I normally do after exfoliating (that takes about half an hour to fade). So this product must be quite gentle on the skin and could probably be used more than once a week which is the norm for me for exfoliating/peeling products.

Can this product replace actual microdermabrasion done at a spa? No. The effects of microdermabrasion generally last at least a few days (and you normally get a neck/shoulder massage to go with it too!).

Is this a good exfoliator that I would purchase at its full retail price? Yes, it's worth it as it is quite a decent size and you only need a tiny bit each time.
