Christmassssssss!

As soon as I picked up this product and gave it a whiff I knew it was the product for me. I looove to exfoliate my skin, so this product changed the game. It smells soooo minty which I love and it basically just Christmas to me. It exfoliates the skin so wonderfully and the scent of mint lingers, which is very calming for me. Add this to your Christmas Lush Haul and you will feel so festive!

Tips: Use it with Christingle!

Peppermint scrub

My ongoing vow to 'not buy any Lush until I've used up all the Lush I've already got' goes straight out of the window as soon as a limited edition range comes out. I bought this the day the Christmas 2016 range arrived in stores, having not tried it the year before. I love strongly scented peppermint products, especially when I'm having trouble getting started in the morning. I also thought it would pair well with Christingle body conditioner.

I like solid scrubs like this and I'm a big fan of Buffy solid scrub from Lush. They're just so much easier to use and less messy than a regular scrub. This bar started out solid enough. It was way too scrubby for me on the first use and I had to rub it onto my hands first then my body. It felt less scrubby (and less solid) on the next go and I was able to use it directly on my body.

I stored the bar in a Lush tin with the lid off, out of the shower. When I next went to use it, it had a white coating on it. I don't know if it was from the salt or something more sinister but it did put me off using it again. The coating disappeared when I put the bar under running water but this also dissolved some of the bar. I got a few more uses out if it before it began to crumble into pieces.

This did leave my skin feeling well exfoliated and moisturised but I didn't enjoy using it. I personally wouldn't use this bar again as it just wasn't right for me. If you like a really course salt scrub and peppermint scents, give this a go.

Good enough to eat!

This little square of delicious came in the Lush WOW box I bought in the boxing day sales. I was actually pretty excited about getting it so I am surprised it's taken me this long to use it!

The one I have is a square and the red white and green coloring is kinda just mashed together rather than more separated like the picture shown. I was surprised at how solid it was - I couldn't break it in half at all. I instead just held the whole block and used it on my wet body.

The smell of this is so wonderful, it's the right kind of peppermint. It doesn't make me smell like a foot!! I rubbed the delicious block ove my legs and at first I was disappointed as I couldn't feel the scrubby magic but after a few seconds it came in and praise whatever you believe in... It was amazing!!!! It was lovely and rough which is just what I like in a scrub.

It rinsed off really well, but then my skin went weird and started tingling all over where I had used it. It stopped after a little while but I thought it was weird it did it to begin with - I've never had a reaction to any other scrubs or salts or peppermint products.

My skin was left (after the tingling stopped) lovely and soft. It was a gorgeous scrub experience and if it comes back I would be tempted to buy another!

The Grinch Turning Bar

I got Lush's Salt and Peppermint Bark because I was in a bit of an exfoliating maddness period (gotta exfoliate before you fake tan) and I thought this might be a festive way to exfoliate.

The Salt and Peppermint Bark is a solid bar made up of salt crystals, cocoa butter, capuacu butter and peppermint oil.

The salt scrubs and exfoliates slightly while the butters are smooth, moisturising and possibly binding the bar together. While the peppermint oil gives off a lovely peppermint scent a bit like a candy cane.

I found the bar crumbled quite easily and that I left a green trail behind me wherever I scrubbed with the bar. So I could have made myself look very Grinch like if I wanted to.

As far as its exfoliating purpose, it exfoliates as much as most things, but I don't think it lasted as long. But it was fun to try.

Candy canes

I was so excited when I saw this added to the lush website, I love minty smelling products in summer they are so refreshing.

So when this arrived It was the first thing from the order that I picked up and had a look at. It feels hard but not solid. I feel if I was going to press my thumb on it quite hard it would crumble. the green block with the red pieces remind me of a candy cane. It's actually like Lush got some candy canes put them in a blender and put it into this bar, not only does it look like blitzed candy canes it smells like them too. Slightly sweet slightly minty, it's in no way overpowering.

I wet my skin and start scrubbing, now I was naughty very naughty I got sunburnt yep the one that is a sunscreen sergeant got burnt, and quite burnt my poor skin started to peel. So I paid particular attention to the tops of my arms and shoulders where the burn was and voila goodbye yucky peely skin.

This isn't as rough on the skin as sugar scrubs, it's quite gentle but very effective, I love how this comes in a bar it's easy to use and hold while in the shower.

You have to be a delicate flower with it though because too much pressure and it will crumble. I got 4 uses out of 1 bar but I did go slightly overboard with the peely skin. It doesn't leave much of a scent on the skin once your finished though.

I have already purchased a second bar and will probably stock up before the silly season ends.
