Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb This is a good one to use on days when you are feeling out of sorts, rushed or just can’t think straight. It brings calm and clarity to a busy hectic life. Step out of the bath and leave your cares behind. Makes the perfect bath partner with Sultana of Soap as they share the same fragrance. Blackberry Bath Bomb is one of the first bath bombs Mo invented back in them there olden days – but its pure simplicity has made it a long term favourite. The fragrance was invented originally when Mark and Ro went to Paris and wanted a fragrance that was evocative of the blackberry and musqué they smelt everywhere.

Not for me

This does smell delicious and im totally impresssed that these are fully vegan products - animal friendly and great for the environment. However, very expensive for what they are! They smell Devine, look pretty in the bath for about a minute and then that’s it. No benefits to my skin or body whatsoever. I won’t be buying again

The original bath bomb!

Back in the 90s there was an amazing mail order company called Cosmetics to Go, who later became the Lush we all know and love today. This is one of the bath bombs that CTG used to do. Recently Lush announced that they would be discontinuing this one so I had to get it once more for old times sake.

This is still very much the same as it has always been. Just a simple, old school bath bomb. No big show or lots of glitter. It's a fast fizzer and quickly leaves the water a lovely violet colour. The name is quite misleading as it doesn't really smell of blackberry. It's more warming than fruity, thanks to the frankincense. I get more of a sherbet lollies smell than actual blackberry fruit. There is a wee surprise at the end but nothing like you get with more recent bombs.

As with all Lush bombs, it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I can get away with not moisturising afterwards but feel like my skin could still benefit from it. I wish Lush would reconsider discontinuing this. Not everyone wants or can use a glittery, jelly filled bomb and this bomb is perfect for those who want a simpler but still relaxing soak.

Tips: Get in quick if you want to try this! It won't be around for much longer!

Boom

This bath bomb has bomb on it and when I put it in the bath it fizzes away turning the water a lovely purple colour.

Then in the middle of the bomb popped a small square of paper that said boom. I'm not to sure about this maybe something that could go down the plug hole would have been better.

It smell lovely and my whole house smells of blackberries. My skin feels silky smooth.

What blackberry!?

There are still a few bombs left from Lush that I am yet to try, and until today this was one of them. I was quite excited as it smelled divine, and the coloring of it was gorgeous. I could see a sneaky piece of paper sticking out and I wondered what it said.

I plopped it in the bath today and waited to see what colors would amaze me and see what was hidden within. I waited, and waited. Nothing! The bomb fizzed quite quickly, and the beautiful purple color filled the bath, but there was no wow, no surprise color inside, no lustre to tickle my fancy. To be honest, I was disappointed.

The smell that came off the bomb was nothing like a blackberry. I got hints of sweet, strong frankincense and a bit of bergamot, but very little of the beautiful fruity blackberry, and as I bought it for the blackberry smell, I'm slightly disappointed.

As always, Lush never cease to amaze me with how soft my skin is after I use their delightful bombs. This bomb would be repurchased, simply for the fact that it is uplifting. I have been severely under the weather the last few days and this has perked me up and cheered me up ever so slightly. So while it was disappointing, it was also the only thing I needed to feel like myself again.

My favorite Lush bath bomb

My all time favorite lush bath bomb. I find this one very exciting to use and the cute little notes left in the bath after the bath bomb has all fizzed up is a really cute touch. Smells delicious! I use it if i ever get the opportunity to bath in the morning because as relaxing as it is able to awaken my senses. Would highly recommend this bath bomb as it is a great go to for any bath, any time of the day.

This is The Bomb!

I am not the biggest fan of baths, they're lovely while it lasts but I find it super difficult to get myself out of the warm water and let the cold air attack my body haha. Recently I've been wanting to take a nice hot bath and my lovely friend, who's a bit of a Lush junkie, talked me into picking up a bath bomb. I've never been the biggest fan of bubble baths or anything fancy like that, just run the water and hop on in - that's how I've always been. But people continue to rave about these bath bombs so I decided well, why not?

It seems that Lush enjoy putting glitter into almost everything which I am not into, so Blackberry was my bomb of choice as it was nice and simple, no glitter or any chunky bits stuck in it. Everyone had told me to only use half but my attempt in halving the rock hard ball failed, so I just chucked the whole thing in! (I have a pretty standard size tub and like to have deep baths). First off, the colour is gorgeous, one of my favourite colours is purple so I loved the different shades swirling about in my tub. The smell is heavenly, I really enjoy deep, rich fragrances, so the mix of blackberry, frankincense and bergamot was right up my alley - but it could definitely be too strong for some. The warm water really intensifies the fragrance, so laying in the tub you're enveloped by the amazing warmth of the scent. This made the bath water extremely soft and that's exactly what I was hoping for. My skin was in dire need of deep hydration and a good exfoliation so having soaked in the tub with the bath bomb really allowed for my skin to soften. The overall experience is very relaxing, the feeling it gives in the water, the fragrance and the colour - it's more than I had expected.

Afterwards my skin was left feeling silky, smooth and baby soft - it hasn't felt like this in a long time. It really absorbed the lotion I applied after and still feels amazing today - with no dry patches! Fortunately for me my bath wasn't left with any staining or a purple ring - hallelujah! Saves me from scrubbing away after such a relaxing soak. I definitely want to try more or Lush's Bath Bombs (all of them that don't include glitter) but unfortunately we are renovating our bathroom this Summer and the plans are to leave the bath tub behind... So we shall see how many soaks I can fit in before the room is ripped apart.

All in all I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this product. It always seemed a little gimmicky to me, like it was just a hyped up, fancy product to colour the water, but I was wrong! I do really recommend you try one if you haven't already, it's definitely worth it!

Blackberry Bath Bomb

I can get two beautifully scented and coloured baths out of one Blackberry Bath Bomb by cutting it in half, it's absolutely huge! I love that it is just one solid colour, no glitter or pretty decorations are needed to make this baby any more appealing than it already is. The scent is sweet like berries but seems to have a subtle citrusy kick to it from the addition of bergamot and frankincense which also gives it a very slight woody scent. One downside to this bath bomb is that it does leave a stubborn purple ring that requires a bit of elbow grease to remove, not my favourite thing to do after a relaxing bath but I continue to suck it up and buy these bath bombs.

Bombs awaaaay!

Lush is my best friend and my new passion. Blackberry bath bomb was my first purchase and the beginning of my love story with Lush. What's not to love? It's purple, it's natural, cruelty free, it's for relaxation and it smells divine! For $6.90 per bomb, it's the cheapest alternative to a spa treatment in a ball of fizz.

It is a lavender purple colour and maintains it's vibrant colour once dropped in to a bath of hot water. I found that it had blue bits of 'stuff' in it which made me scratch my head at it a bit wondering what it was. Once it hits the water the fizzing is awesome and disappears within 30-45 seconds.

The smell of blackberries and all things berry fill the room and give it a fruity sweetness. It is actually quite calming after a long day at work or a long being a mama.

I slide in to the tub and the days worries simply melt away in the tub while I am transported to my own blackberry goodness smelling world where it's just me and the warmth surrounding me. My senses are put at ease and my muscles turn to jelly as they are enveloped by the sweet smell.

Afterward my skin is feeling very slippery but replenished and relaxed. The only down side to this bath bomb is that it leaves a scummy purple ring around my tub so I am rudely snapped back in to the reality of cleaning it to make sure it doesn't become a permanent fixture of my bath. I love it so much though that I always have a three bath bomb back up at all times to make sure I have some on hand.

Tips: Clean your bath straight away to avoid stains and moisturize after use it can be drying

Relaxing in purple

I purchased this bath bomb on a whim and thought it sounded dreamy... I was right. As soon as I smelt it I knew I had to have a bath with it straight away.

It is a huge size so I broke it in half (my tub is tiny too). I loved how it fizzed up wildly and turned the bath water a beautiful hue of purple... the scent was drifting up and smelt relaxing and fruity, soft and sweet, a little frankincense as well, but none of which was over-whelming... just subtle... beautiful!

I soaked in this until my bath water went cold and felt nice and soft, but after drying off my skin felt a little tight and dry. I think I will let my kids have the rest of this even though I like the smell I think they will relax with it better, and I'll add some apricot kernel oil in to moisturise. Oh and the wee note inside was a added surprise... Boom :)

Tips: Cut in half (or smaller if preferred) for better value, as the inside is the same as the outside it doesn't effect it's performance. Note: I smashed mine against the floor which resulted in some finer pieces which were nice to sprinkle in as well... it all fizzes up.
