L'Oreal PRO XXL VOLUME MASCARA

At first I wasn't sure this was the mascara for me, but I stuck with it and now I absolutely love it!

It's a nice dual ended product, the handles are easy to hold. I've used some dual mascaras with the fiddliest little handles!

At first I applied too much primer which made the second layer a nightmare to apply evenly. It was clumpy. But when used sparingly, with a gentle zigzag motion, the primer goes on evenly. Its surprising that using less gives more. Once the second step black booster has been applied lashes look fat and fabulous!

This wears well through the day and even stays put with my eye rubbing.

Oh my lashes! This does what it says...XXL Volume!

My natural lashes are alright, a nice length and even, but they lack oomph. You know? More like whiskers on a sphynx cat than on a fluffy snout.

This 2 step mascara packs a punch. The primer adds thickess to your ashes, which you then coat with step 2, which has 'black booster' technology. It definitely is black and it is boost-y.

I found this stayed looking sharp all day, no clumping or flaking and no smudging. It was easy to remove at the end of the day.

New Holy Grail. If that's what the kids are still saying.

This mascara looks glamorous from the outside, promising the full-volume lashes of glamorous movie stars. I loved the double application brushes being at each end with the easy-to-read numbers clueing you in of the order so you don't have to find the primer first by trial and error.

The primer is very easy to apply with a long straight brush to make it quick and easy to apply in a couple of swipes. There were no instructions that came with my sample, so I waited 30 seconds before applying the mascara to allow dry time. The mascara brush itself is also long, but has a curve to it to encourage curl of the lashes. It coats the white primer really easily and well, with the two coats combined achieving the promised XXL volume with ease. My lashes have never looked so long! The coating looked natural and not at all clumpy, separating the lashes beautifully. I was really happy with how it looked. Unfortunately, throughout the day, I had to keep wiping under my eyes as it did travel and smear and was especially worse on a humid day. My eyes can become sensitive toward the end of the day with some mascaras, but this one was wonderful in that regard and washed off easily at the end of the day.

I did like the result of the long lashes though, so I will be trying a more proven fixed mascara overtop of this one to see if that helps it stay in place.

I wanted to love this product but I was left just a little underwhelmed :(

I have quite long lashes to start with (Thanks Flash Lash) but adding more volume is always welcome. The first day I tried this I used as recommended and added the step 1 - base coat (a white type of thick mascara) then followed by step 2 - standard Mascara. I found it left my eyelashes quite clumpy and I felt like I was straight back in the year 2000! Maybe I had applied it wrong I thought however rocked the clumpy lashes for the day... by the end of the day I had quite bad transfer under my eyes.

The next day I made sure to use oil free products on my face (I thought this may help with transfer) It helped a little however still had a little amount of transfer. I applied less of the base coat and waited for it to dry before adding the mascara, was better but still a bit too clumpy for my liking.

I have since just used step 2. the Mascara and have quite enjoyed it by itself.

This may work well on shorter lashes however I wouldn't recommend for longer lashes unless you like the clumpy look.

This mascara formula really delivers an impact to your lashes! The two in one formula is applied as a layered product to build and prime the lashes (white end) and then delivering a punchy black defined lash bed with the black end. Lashes are left full and thick, with a texture that you can build on for more drama. Essentially you can continue building until you reach the desired result, there is a bit of wriggle room before the formula dries so you can comb through evenly to separate lashes and create more length. Good colour payoff and intense black. Lasts well during the day and easily removes without special cleanser. Wand is well shaped to fit the eye area and comfortably shape lashes.

I LOVED this mascara. Mascara's do best for me (for some reason) that have long skinny wands. I also do tend to use a lash primer beforehand so to have both of these in one product was amazeballs!

The mascara comes in two steps, so it has 2 wands on either end of it. The first one is the primer and the 2nd wand is the mascara itself. It goes on just right for me, no clumping and no mess. My lashes look long and natural. You only need one coat.

This is my new favourite mascara the fact that I no longer have to buy a separate primer is a bonus for me. I'll certainly be replacing it with the same product when i've burnt through this one.

I have lashes ! I'm excited about this product. I love that both products are contained in the one wand. Its a really cool shape and easy to grip. The apilication of white base goes on so easily even my very very fine eyelashes have hope! I do apply the black fairly quickly after the primer. This goes on beautifuly with no clugging and no blotching. When I experimented and allowed the primer to dry I found I did get a more gluggy appearance rather than nice lush lashes. I do like the curvature of the brush, I find for me it gives the lashes a little upward lift ( I never use curling tool as I just don't like them ) It's also fragrance free so this ticks another of my personal boxes.

After a long day at work , I found that the mascara hadn't smudged or transfered to my lid which I find some mascaras do. It gives me everything! Volume, length, body but still looks natural! And it holds all day long!! My last mascara was 2 separate wands , this is so much more convient and unlike other volumisers doesn't have micro lashes that flake into the eye. All in all its a fabulous product and at $24.00 this is such great value and I'll definitely be buying again....

So I have tried this mascara out everyday and I'm just meh about it. It's ok and it makes my lashes blacker and slightly longer but it flakes and It feels heavy. The volumizer is annoying and too thick. It take way too long to dry. The formula is too thick and I really don't like it. The smell is off putting as well.

I was looking forward to trialling a new mascara as lately the ones I've used haven't worked well. This one disappointed in the fact that it didn't do anything exciting. The primer didn't seem to serve a purpose apart from colouring my lashes white and in doing so made me use the other end to colour over it with the black end. I found it difficult to see which end was which without my glasses on. I found that if I did my bottom lashes that I ended up with panda eyes a few hours later. My eyes didn't look spectacular after this mascara and wouldn't use again.

I was very disappointed in this mascara! I have straight lashes so was hoping this would add some volume and length. I tried various ways of using including not using the primer and just seeing the difference with/without it. I alternated between letting the primer (step 1) dry and leaving it wet before applying the black (step 2). Didn't make a difference. Did leave some smudging under my eyes later in the day. Made my lashes clumpy so in a sense yes added volume but looked like spaced out spider legs. Didn't add length. If anything i found swapping between the 2 ends between primer (?) and black annoying and i tended to naturally go to hold the wrong end each times. I'm not sure how they got the % saying 77% lengthening and 12% volume. The lengthening did NOT happen and the volume was not enough I wouldn't buy. I am a lover of L'Oreal skincare but sadly not for this mascara. I also tried curling my lashes both at the start of the mascara layering process and other times after mascara was on (when had dried) but the curl didn't hold. Had to soak my cotton pads in micellar water to cleanse off later as difficult to remove
