L'Oreal Paris Colorista 1 Day Spray Review

I got this for my daughter to use for wacky hair day and regretted it as soon as I sprayed it in her hair. She is very blonde, so we thought the hot pink would look super bright in her hair but we were wrong. It looked pale and washed out before we’d even finished. The formula is both super sticky, but also left her hair crunchy and gross at the same time. It also stains horribly! 2 weeks later and we finally got the last bits of colour out. I definitely don’t recommend this at all

I purchased this in a pretty purple for a hens do as we were doing a purple theme and thought it would look cool. I have dark hair so wasn't expecting anything too dramatic.

I used this on the lower half of my hair, it came out quite subtle as expected. You don't get much in a can at all so if you wanted to do your whole head you would need a few....of course depending on your hair length.

After applying my hair felt horrible, it was super duper crunchy and just weird. I actually couldn't wait to wash it out! It also stains really bad, my top got covered and it does not wash out.

When I got home later that night I jumped in the shower and I shampooed about 4 times because it was not coming out easily. It stained the shower and overall it was just a messy experience and I don't recommend it at all!

I used this spray on the tips of both my daughter and my hair - we both have brown hair and to be honest I was expecting either a very unnoticeable colour or a stiff feeling spray. This was a really nice hot pink, and although it felt a bit stiff, it was nothing like the cheap coloured sprays I have tried before that make me look a bit like a scarecrow. This washed out pretty easily, and didn't flake off my hair too much during the day which was a massive bonus. My daughter loved it, and I would buy again for fun on a special occasion :-) I probably wouldn't personally wear it for anything other than dressing up or a bit of fun, as it still feels like costume hair to me. Disclaimer - I have never had bright coloured hair, so what I consider a bright pink might be disappointing to someone who has had properly dyed bright hair! it was noticeably pink, but not 'pure' pink...

i bought one of these on a whim cos i couldnt be bothered redoing my colors. what a bloody mistake that was.

the spray comes out hard and fast, and it makes hair hard and crunchy, which i really, really hate. it was almost impossible to brush out and it stained everything it touched. i am an avid hair twirler and so that really irritated me haha.

it did show up in my faded but brightly colored hair, but the results were just not good and i really hated it to the point where i washed it out immediately. i wouldn't repurchase, ever.

I say 'safe' because I have a hairdye allergy (PPD and a couple other chemicals) and so my hair is now growing out in my natural silver-white. This doesn't give me a reaction, but I still use it sparingly.

I've tried both pinks and really want the rose gold.

The paler pink shows up well and washes out readily. The hot pink stained my hair and i had a pink tinge to my hair for about 5 washes afterwards, which I was actually a fan of. In both cases you need to spray quite liberally, and then brush through and respray to avoid hair going stiff with spray.

It transfers like mad, so you have to be careful, and wash it out before you sleep, but the impact in the meantime is amazing and if you're just wanting a day of bright dye for a specific purpose it works well.

I'm looking forward to having my hair grown out enough to use the hot pink to stain the tips :)

Used this on my niece who has light brown/ dark blonde hair. Extremely messy and didn't show up as much as we hoped it would. Was still a bit of fun for her but wouldn't purchase again

I wanted to trial what different colours would look like and was a little disappointed with the amount of product in each can. I have mid-long hair but it's fairly thin so I assumed 1-2 cans would be enough. I had a friend spray it on, as the spray can be quite tricky to get at the back and goes everywhere. With two cans, only about half of my hair was coloured so, especially for people with longer hair, it probably isn't worth the cost.

It may be the texture of my hair, but the colour pretty much disappeared within a matter of hours. For a trial of the colours, I got a basic idea of what shades I liked, but this product wouldn't really be great for even a night out of testing a new shade. However, for something really short-lasting or for children, it would be a fun product to use.

I was doing a dress up day this weekend and needed ginger hair. I opted to try out the pretty rose-gold colour spray in the Colorista range. I had read bad reviews on BR about this product, but I was still curious to see for myself just how bad it was.

The spray can gives quite a misty type spray, rather than shooting streaks of colour which end up looking super unflattering. It was easy to brush through the ends of my hair for a delicious (albeit subtle) rose-gold-ombre.

I was extremely disappointed with how little product you get in the can. I only have shoulder length hair, but would easily have needed 3 cans to get full coverage (that would be about $48 of product!!!). Fortunately I was happy enough to settle on just colouring the ends of my hair.

Yes, it did rub off on my skin and clothes, but not as badly as I had expected. I used A LOT of hairspray which definitely helped fix it in place.

On my medium brown hair, the colour was super pretty but definitely didn't show up very boldly. You would need bleached hair to get the full effect as seen in the L'Oreal pictures.

Finally, washing out the product. I shampooed my hair 3 times, and was still getting colour run off on the 3rd shampoo. My hair is brown so any residual colour doesn't show up after washing and drying. I understand that if you have blonde hair you may need to accept some pigment staying in your hair for a few weeks!
