Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar - Banana
Reviews
Tips: Get your self one of those stick on closing soap holders, keeps them dry and safe from little hands
I was very hesitant to try this because it's a whole new concept to me. To my surprise it lathers up so well and smells faintly like real banana. Good thing is the smell doesn't linger if you're not a fan. I would absolutely repurchase this, and I love that there's no plastic packaging.
Tips: Store this in a soap dish with drainage so it doesn't go gummy at the bottom. Build lather on your hands before massaging on your scalp to avoid getting hair all through it.
My friend recommended this to me at the start of the year and I’m still on my first bar. It lasts so long and is great for travel. It smelt so good and the sent actually stayed in my hair. My hair felt smooth and soft. I will definitely be getting a new one once mine runs out.
I recently tried the Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar in Banana and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the scent of the bar is amazing and reminds me of a fresh banana smoothie. It lathers up nicely and leaves my hair feeling clean and refreshed.
However, I've also noticed that my hair feels a bit more dry after using this shampoo bar compared to my regular shampoo. I've also noticed that my curls are not as defined as they usually are after washing my hair with this bar.
That being said, I do appreciate that the shampoo bar is a more sustainable option and eliminates the need for plastic bottles. I also love the fact that it's free of sulfates, silicones and parabens, which is great for those with sensitive scalps.
In conclusion, I'm still on the fence about this shampoo bar. It's great in terms of sustainability and the scent is amazing, but I'm not sure if it's the best option for my hair type. I would recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a more sustainable option, but just be aware that it might not work for everyone.
To begin with I was confused as to how, what looked like a bar of soap, would generate enough foam to actually wash my long straight hair. From first use I found this product great, the fact that it washes but also nourishes is a massive plus for me. As me mentioned above, my hair is long and straight - I have struggled to find a liquid shampoo that doesn't dry my hair. With the shampoo bar, It only takes a few wipes of the bar on your scalp to generate enough foam to be able to lather and wash your hair thoroughly. It was easy to rinse out and left a subtle but pleasant smell. Banana shampoo sounded odd to me but I was sold after first use as it made my hair feel so soft and have an amazing shine. This product was gentle on my scalp - I have psoriasis and found this did not irrate my scalp. I have since become a regular user and alternate between the banana and watermelon flavors. I have had so many comments on how great my hair looks after using this product.
This is great as an option when traveling, easy to pack and won't accidentally spill over your clothes. Smells good and I love the eco friendly packaging.
I am so glad that a big brand like Garnier is making a shampoo bar that is easily available in supermarkets and not too expensive. I have been using shampoo bars for years, but they used to be hard to get and expensive. I still used them because in my opinion there is absolutely no need for using a plastic bottle for shampoo. The same is true for body wash, but I have not found a good solid moisturiser yet. The first thing I noticed about this bar, even before I opened the box, was its amazing smell. It is so delicious! More of a general “tropical fruit” smell than straight banana. The box is recyclable and contains detailed information on the source of the ingredients of the shampoo. The bar has a cute drop shape, and smells even more delicious when you get it wet. When you apply the bar to your hair it lathers up really well, which has been a bit problematic with some of the other bars I have used before. The box says that the shampoo cleans and nourishes the hair without weighing it down, and I have to agree with all of that. My hair looks clean and healthy without me using an additional conditioner. Garnier have really nailed making a well working shampoo formula into a convenient and environmentally friendly bar. I would really recommend this to everyone, although not necessarily the nourishing banana bar, as there are other options for different hair types.
Tips: If you are new to shampoo bars give this one a go. It’s easy to use and works very well!
Love, love, and more love for this solid shampoo bar. I have used the same nourishing hair food and loved it so just had to try this. I have shirt hair and wash it daily and I found this shampoo bar to be economical. I keep it in a container I bought from Lush for shampoo bars. This keeps the bar dry and saves it from becoming soft. I love the scent, banana, who wouldn't? It leaves my hair soft and shiny and it smells great. My hair dose not seem as dry as it was before so I am really happy. I will tell others about this and I will buy this again.
Never has used a solid shampoo before but this was on special at my supermarket so decided to pop my solid shampoo cherry. Love the shape and smell, I need about 6 swipes to get my thick curly hair soapy. It leaves my hair so clean and soft and I only need to use conditioner every 3rd time. I have thirsty curly hair - so to be able to skip Conditioner is cray cray! But it makes my curls soft and bouncy! Downside is the bar disintegrates really quickly. I have it in a soap holder but it is still not lasting the miles. A bottle of shampoo usually lasts me 2-3 months, I have had the bar a month and it’s over 1/2 gone so not equal to 2 bottles of shampoo as it boasts.
Additionally- the advertising is a little confusing. It says 2 in one - and I thought this meant like a shampoo conditioner, but it means 2 bottles in one bar. So quite deceptive.
Tips: Get a soap saver dish. And it Is not equal to two bottles of liquid shampoo. Also, only buy on sale as it’s only a 60gm bar and other solid shampoos are bigger and work out cheaper.
I love using shampoo bars as they are just so good and with no plastic which has to be a good thing. The Banana scent does not work for me and to be honest I am not keen on smelling like food but the shampoo itself is really good. I find I need two shampoos to get a really good lather and my hair feels so good afterwards,so clean and soft .The bar is long lasting and is so easy to pack if you are traveling -no leaky bottles which is great.I will buy this brand again but just not in this flavour and the only reason I marked it down was the scent.
Tips: Keep dry between uses and this will last a long time.
