Five Facial Massage Tools Rated!

Some days I wake up and I swear I could be mistaken for the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. My face is full of fluid, puffy, and the skin around my eyes is so swollen it looks like I've spent the night crying. Suffice to say, due to this I am a huge fan of lymphatic drainage massage - and the tools that can help it along. Some might say my fondness for such tools verges on obsession. If it promises to depuff, then there's a good chance (if it's affordable, because even I couldn't hit the go button on the $400 vibrating facial tool YouTuber Tati recommended) I've tried it. So out of everything that's graced my face, what's a dud, what's a keeper and what can't I be without? Read on...

5. Vibrating facial massager

During my failed attempt at botox, the nurse had me hold one of these against my face as a distraction method. Can't say it worked all that well for that purpose, but it did see me buy one, as it occured to me that a vibrating face massager would be an excellent way to help me leak out my excess fluid. The result? Meh. I didn't enjoy the process. I found the vibrating a touch odd feeling, and it didn't leave me looking like I'd done much of anything. I went to try it again for the purpose of this article and the battery had died. No tears were spilled... yet my eyes remain puffy. Sigh.

4. Face cupping

I was so intrigued by the thought of face cupping it got its own article - and I was genuinely impressed with the results. However, in the end, face cupping was too fiddly for an impatient lass like me to keep it up long term. I like a quick fix. One that doesn't come with the possibility of bruising or broken blood vessels.

3. Jade roller

I would love this, it would rate higher, but it's the smell of the metal that sees my jade roller smack bang in the middle of this list. There are no words to express how much I dislike the scent. It's so off-putting that the benefits can't compete. Yes, the jade roller is lovely and cooling on the face, yes it helps with lymphatic drainage, yes the small roller is delightful under the eye area, but the cheap metal smell that it exudes makes it a no go. I guess I could spend more money to get a better quality one, but I'd rather spend the money on a new lipstick.

2. 3D roller

It may be made of cheap plastic and look a little risque (I have had questions from guests when they've spotted it on my windowsill), but I truly love my 3D roller. The heads get right into the areas between my brows where I tend to get little knots from frowning and thinking too much. It goes over my eye area beautifully, and it rolls down my cheekbones and neck with ease. Best of all - no metal smell. That being said, I would consider upgrading this beauty to a fancier non-stinky metal version. I love it that much, but not as much as I adore my...

1. Gua sha stone

I was so envious of the beauties that won the Manicare gua sha stone during Beauty Review's tenth birthday celebration, that I had to buy one myself. Best decision ever. This weighty stone lives permanently on my bedside table. I love that it can be used all over my face, that it really gets into the frown line between my brows. Heck, I even use it to loosen up my knotted shoulder muscles. And on a hot day it's absolutely blissful on the skin - refridgerated or not. I wouldn't be without it. It's my number one. My one and only. The last tool I'll ev-

Pffft, who am I kidding? Much like the giant marshmallow man my face resembles first thing in the morning, one facial tool will never be enough... Which is why I have a new one due to arrive by courier any day now.

So, my beauties, do you have a facial massage tool you love? One I need to know about? Spill the beans below! (Sharing is caring after all!)

Ooo that gua sha stone looks like it might be a good choice. I've had gua sha as part of a massage in the past and it was brilliant. Be cool to see what it can do for my frown lines!

This article is perfect timing as I've been looking at buying something along these lines and now I know what to narrow it down to. I love the look of that Manicare one so top of my list. Quick suggestion though, paint the metal in the jade roller with nail polish, it might help a bit.
