Are These The Most Bizarre Beauty Tools Ever?

by BR Tabatha

Over the past decade the Beauty Review Crew have seen some strange trends come and go, from bobbly nails to wiggly eyebrows to rubber masks that seem better suited to a serial killer rather than a pampering session. On top of that we've seen mind boggling beauty tools (remember the silisponge!?) pop up and then die a slow death. While the eye-opening beauty trends seem to have calmed their farm in recent times, the bizarre beauty tools just keep on coming! So what are some of the weirdest tools on the internet at the moment that promise to do the most? Check these out...

Medicube Age-R Derma EMS Shot

I came across this contraption when watching a YouTube video, sponsored by the brand, on Tati Westbrook's (aka GlamLifeGuru) channel. Its chunky, pulsating silver balls had her face twitching like it was hopped up on sugar and caffeine. The result? Her face was snatched. Seriously depuffed. It's not the prettiest product. It could be mistaken for a tool you'd find in an adult store, but OMG, I want it.

Tweezerman Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover

The Tweezerman Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover looks like something you'd use at the gym to help sculpt arm and thigh muscles, but apparently it's far more useful as a hair remover tool, with the claim being that it will easily remove neck, chin, cheek and upper lip hair, while also minimising hair regrowth. While its coils remind me too much of an epilator (the terrifying flashbacks from using one in the 1990s are real), I'm sure it works a treat... not that I'll ever find out.

Neck Face Beauty Device LED Photon Therapy

Personally the idea of rubbing anything repeatedly up my neck makes me want to vomit (I also can't wear turtlenecks, and tight scarves are out. Yes, I have neck issues), but if this LED, vibrating, heating, massage tool can make my skin as Photoshop smooth as it appears in the picture, I could possibly, maybe, potentially (probably not) deal with my phobia.

Hairmax LaserBand 82

This looks like a torture tool. Something you'd put around a prisoner's neck in order to keep them in line by threatening to electrocute them if they misbehave. Turns out it's nothing of the sort. In fact it's said to stimulate hair growth and is worn like a headband. Also, apparently it won't affect your sexual health. Okay then. Good to know.

RENPHO Eye Massager

It looks like some kind of virtual reality gaming tool but, in my humble eyes-glued-to-my-laptop-for-hours-on-end opinion, it's SO much better. An eye mask that 'adopts kneading, trigger point therapy, oscillating pressure, and rhythmic percussion massaging' to relieve eye pain.  Oh, and it's even got the ability to play relaxing music to give you that full spa experience. It make look odd, but it's a yes please from me.

Laser Plasma Pen

I'm just gonna put it out there - this looks like the world's unclassiest fountain pen. Which, if it were a pen, I think I'd be right. However, this is no such thing - instead it's supposed to remove skin tags, warts, moles, tattoos, through the power of a laser.

Honestly - would not recommend. Do not DIY. See a skin specialist if you have any skin issues that require removal.

Eyebrow Ruler DIY Template

Are your eyebrows distant relatives rather than cousins or, even better, sisters? An eyebrow ruler DIY template might be for you... or maybe not if you're not into cookie cutter eyebrows that aren't designed to suit your face and eye shape. And don't even get me started on how one is supposed to hold the tool while plucking or filling in brows. I think I'd need an extra arm and hand to make this tool work.

Facial Slimming Strap

The Facial Slimming Strap is said to use LED lights, vibrating massage, heating, and EMS microcurrent to firm and repair skin, reduce wrinkles, improve skin condition, while lifting and tightening your face. Um... do they make a body suit version of that?

I hate to say it, but it sounds a touch too good to be true, but if you got one you could always wear it to a fancy dress party, along with a silver jumpsuit, and say you're a humanoid.

Portable Skin Analyzer

Got a spare $3,200+shipping sitting around, along with a skin obsession? You too could own this very space-age looking contraption that purports to analyse your skin in order to help you create a tailor-made skincare system. Or you could spend a lot less money and see a professional. I know which option I'd be going for...

While the current batch of tools may range from the straight up bizarre, to the bonkers but brilliant, one thing's for sure... we can't wait to see what the tool makers of the beauty world come out with next!

So, my beauties... What are the bizarrest beauty tools you've ever seen? Have any of the featured tools piqued your curiosity? Or do you prefer to take the basic route when it comes to your tools? Chat below!

Which ones of these do actually work and which are a scam?

The face contouring massage things are kind of cool, I wouldn’t count on them for anti-aging but can imagine they’d be good for morning puffiness etc.

Haha some are just weird! DIY tattoo removal lol eeeeekkkk doesn't sound great

I'm fairly skeptical about some of these sorts of gadgets and probably wouldn't spend money on them, but I must admit, that gentle Eye Massager sounds rather dreamy. The Tweezerman though? That definitely reeks of the Epilator fad years ago, which I got sucked into and immediately regretted. Absolute torture! Never again. As for the Face Slimming Strap... Hilarious!

I've seen some of those massage tools on Instagram and wondered if they really do make you look more toned. Also those clear pads that are meant to help with lines and wrinkles.

I have used one of these , it was supposed to remove a skin tag , but l was too scared to use it !

I have seen that tweezer man tool before but none of the others and some of them do look intriguing but I probably wouldn't waste my money on them.

These are pretty whacky that's for sure! I think I saw the eye massager on an infomercial this morning, and thought who the hell wants that - sounds terrifying!
